On Saturday, April 13th, we had the great honour and pleasure to participate, by invitation, in the 2nd Career Day of the Nursing Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, which took place at the “Alkis Argyriadis” amphitheatre of the University of Athens.
In a well-organized event and with the presence of the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, and the President of the department, Pavlos Myrianthéous, the nurses of the University of Athens had the opportunity to be informed about developments in the job market and to meet a plethora of medical and pharmaceutical companies and healthcare organizations from the private and public sectors.
Nordoc Healthcare participated in the event with our medical director, Senior Consultant Surgeon Elias Tsiolis, who returned to the University of Athens 24 years after graduating from the Department of Health Sciences.
During his presentation, Mr. Elias Tsiolis had the opportunity to inform the participants about both the work environment and the career advancement opportunities, as well as the central role of Nurses in the Swedish healthcare system.
The presentation was followed by the common realization among the attending faculty members of the department that the role of the nurse in Scandinavia serves as a model for the evolution of the nursing role in Greece, and that there is now a substantial convergence and development both in terms of education and the job market.
Participation in such events is always an excellent opportunity for us at Nordoc to demonstrate our dedication to Nordoc’s educational work and to the professional development of Nurses, as well as to create conditions for possible collaborations that promote professional progress, cooperation, and convergence of working conditions for healthcare workers within the European Union.
